There are many types of residential Philippines properties for sale in the market today, some of the most popular are houses and condominiums. These two types of housing, other than apartments and townhouses, are considered by many Filipinos as some of the best housing in the Philippines.

However, there have been a lot of debates on which type of housing is the best? Would be a condo unit or a typical house? Both are known for their advantages and disadvantages, strengths and weaknesses. Either can serve beneficial for a specific need while some of its features may not be as helpful for other needs. So which of these types of housing can best serve a specific need?

Strengths and weaknesses of Houses
The one strength that made houses popular is the understanding that houses are the most permanent type of residential Philippines properties for sale. This is because of the type of ownership (or housing tenure) that embodies the owning of a house, which is known as owner occupancy or home ownership.

Another strength is that these types of housings are usually built for families. Compared to living in a condominium unit, which is usually small, houses are more practically built to accommodate a number of occupants. Some houses can even accommodate extended families, which is why many Filipinos wishing to settle down normally buys themselves and their family a house of their own.

The disadvantage, however, is its location. Houses are typically found in the suburbs, away miles away from business districts. Although there are several houses found near Makati City or even in Ortigas, the availability is usually rare. If there is, these houses are usually expensive.

Strengths and weaknesses of Condominiums
Condominiums became popular among many Filipinos because of its benefits. One of its many benefits is its location. Many of todays condominiums are built around business districts and commercial areas such as those built around Makati City and Ortigas. Another popular advantage of condominiums is its luxurious living spaces.

New types of these residential Philippines properties for sale have recently been introduced in the market. These are condominium complexes. These types are known for their luxurious amenities which are rare with houses such as swimming pools, gyms, and recreational areas such as playgrounds and parks. Although mostly found far off from cities, these types of housing can provide an environment perfect for smaller families.

The disadvantage of condominiums, however, is its expensiveness. Most condominiums found in the city are known for their expensiveness, though very beneficial. Another is that condominiums usually charge their residents to pay a fee, either monthly-based or yearly-based, which are usually used for the maintenance of all facilities in the condominium.
